More than 100 patients treated after Sunday night tornado
CONWAY (KATV) - Conway Regional Medical Center said it treated over 100 patients for storm related injuries Monday morning after a deadly tornado struck central Arkansas. Lori Ross with Conway Regional said nine of those patients were admitted to the hospital, and two went straight into surgery. Another 10 people were transferred to hospitals in Little Rock, many with head trauma. The cities of Conway, Mayflower, and Vilonia suffered severe damage where a massive tornado ripped through the area Sunday night. Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock says it received 18 patients with injuries from the Sunday storms. Hospital spokeswoman Hilary DeMillo says the emergency room treated patients with broken bones, cuts and head injuries, and some patients required emergency surgery.
