'13 prep season opens Monday; AP poll out Saturday

LITTLE ROCK (AP) - The 2013 Arkansas high school football season kicks off Monday with three games, and 14 games will be played before next Friday's traditional start of the season.

Shiloh Christian plays Siloam Springs on Monday, while Ashdown and West Memphis will travel halfway across the state to play at Little Rock. Also, Clinton and Arkansas Baptist play at Searcy.

Rivalry games next week include Jacksonville at Cabot on Tuesday and Little Rock Central at Little Rock Catholic next Thursday.

The Associated Press preseason poll will be released Saturday.

The results of last year's title games were:

7A- Fayetteville 31, Bentonville 20

6A- Greenwood 51, Pine Bluff 44

5A- Camden Fairview 28, Batesville 10

4A- Stuttgart 28, Ozark 7

3A- Harding Academy 49, Glen Rose 45

2A- Junction City 27, Bearden 26
