$140K stolen from Ark. Sports Hall of Fame

NORTH LITTLE ROCK (KATV) - A former employee allegedly stole $140,000 from the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame.

Jennifer A. Smith was arrested Tuesday, accused of using her company credit card to make personal purchases over the course of six years. Hall of Fame President Andrew Meadors said Smith didn't show up for a November 20 meeting and then never returned to work.

Meadors hired the Frost Company to do an independent audit which discovered the $140,000 in missing cash.

Smith was released without bail. Her next court date is April 17.
