ATLANTA, Texas (AP) - Two people from Arkansas, including a pregnant woman, were killed and three were injured when their vehicle rolled in East Texas over the weekend.
The Texas Department of Public Safety says the sport utility vehicle was on U.S. Highway 59 in Cass County when the driver veered right, then overcorrected and the vehicle rolled Saturday just southwest of the small town of Atlanta. All five people were from McCaskill, Ark.
DPS says the two killed were 13-year-old Sawyer Hill and 23-year-old Kayla Quinonez, who was pregnant.
The driver, 39-year-old Nova Hill, and 15-year-old passenger Kelli Quinonez were taken to a hospital in Shreveport, La. A third passenger, 44-year-old Mark Hill, was taken to a hospital in Atlanta.
The only people wearing seatbelts were Nova and Mark Hill.Copyright 2013 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
