2 charged with rape in Washington County Jail

FAYETTEVILLE (AP) - Washington County sheriff's investigators say a jail inmate was raped and tortured by two fellow inmates.

Authorities said Tuesday that two people face multiple charges for the incident last Thursday at the Washington County Jail.

Our ABC station in Fayetteville, 40/29 News, reports that 21-year old Javaughntaiye Willis of Fayetteville and 19-year-old Jdonta Britt of Springdale are each charged with rape, terroristic threatening and second-degree degree battery for the hours-long incident.

A sheriff's detective's report says the suspects used a homemade weapon to slash the victim 29 times on his back and otherwise brutalized him.

Willis, who's being held without bond, has a Jan. 22 court date set. Britt was being held on $175,000 bond. Both men were being held on robbery and other charges and have pending court dates.
