UPDATE: Two injured in shooting at Waffle House

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KATV) - Police say two people suffered non life-threatening injuries after being shot at a Waffle House restaurant in west Little Rock.

According to Little Rock police the shooting happened at the Waffle House on N. Shackleford around 3 a.m. after an verbal altercation between two customers.

"The suspect then went outside, retrieved a weapon, came back into the business," said Lt. Sidney Allen with the Little Rock Police Department.

"While the victim was paying for his food at the register the suspect fired multiple shots. At least one round struck the intended target, and additional rounds struck the clerk that was behind the counter."

Allen added that the suspect immediately left the business in white vehicle and right now they're unsure who he is.

Monday's investigation continued with interviewing the victims once they had recovered from surgery.

It's unclear if there was a connection between the two customers.
