2 women killed, 2 kids hurt in Ark. head-on crash

NEWPORT, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas State Police say two women were killed and two children were injured after a sport utility vehicle collided with a dump truck.

Authorities say the fatal crash happened Tuesday on Arkansas Highway 226 in Jackson County. Authorities say the crash remains under investigation, but that a Mack truck collided head on with an SUV driven by 22-year-old Andrea Benham.

Benham was killed in the crash, along with her passenger, 25-year-old Felecia Davis. Both women were from Manila.

Authorities say a 7-month-old boy and a 2-year-old boy who were in the SUV were injured and taken to a hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

The truck's driver was not injured in the collision.
