SEARCY, Ark. (AP) - A man charged with capital murder for the slaying of a Bald Knob woman will face a second count because the victim was four months pregnant when she died.
Prosecutor Chris Raff added the additional capital murder count on Friday against 28-year-old Benjamin Peirce of Searcy in the death of 34-year-old Crystal Timberlake.
The Daily Citizen reports Timberlake was killed early Wednesday morning in Bald Knob and that investigators found a substantial amount of methamphetamine lab ingredients at the scene.
Peirce is also charged with attempted capital murder for the shooting of 48-year-old Robert Wayne Dixon of Bald Knob, who was hospitalized.
The investigation is continuing.
