One of the hottest back-to-school fashion trends is upsetting some parents: high heels for little girls - girls as young as 3 years old.
Roughly half of Steve Madden's kids spring/summer collection has an elevated sole and the shoes are being sold at Gap Kids and Target stores nationwide.
But others aren't so thrilled. The trend concerns many who say heels sexualize little girls.
"The fact is that the word 'sexy' does not and should never apply to children," said adolescent health expert Logan Levkoff, Ph.D.
Doctors also worry that the elevated heel at a young age could cause health problems, including messing up their balance and tendon development.
