FAIRFIELD BAY, Ark. (AP) - The U.S. Geological Survey reports a 3.8 magnitude earthquake has been recorded near Fairfield Bay.
Police say there are no reports of damage or injuries - although several residents called police to ask about the temblor.
The USGS reports the earthquake was recorded at 4:19 p.m. Wednesday one mile southeast of Fairfield Bay. The area is about 55 miles north of Little Rock.
Geologists say earthquakes of magnitude 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest felt by humans and that damage is not likely with quakes below magnitude 4.0.Copyright 2014 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
