PARAGOULD, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas State Police say four people were killed in a single-vehicle wreck in northeastern Arkansas.
State police say the wreck happened at about 4:30 a.m. Monday in Greene County. Authorities say a car driven by 20-year-old Michael Martin went airborne after cresting a hill on a county road and crashed into a tree.
State police say Martin died in the wreck, along with all the passengers in his car: 20-year-old Barry Weyer Jr., 19-year-old Sarah Bean and 20-year-old Nathan Swafford. All were from Paragould.
Arkansas State Police Cpl. Tony Hill says the impact caused the car to rip in half. He says the car was likely traveling near 100 mph to go airborne.Copyright 2014 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
