HOT SPRINGS (AP) - Oaklawn is getting ready to host the Racing Festival of the South.
The thoroughbred race track in Hot Springs gets the festivities under way with Wednesday's running of the $400,000 Fantasy Stakes.
The field for the Grade 3 Fantasy, a 1 1/16-mile race for 3-year-old fillies, will be led by Rose to Gold, who won the Honeybee Stakes.
A total of 8 stakes races will be run during the festival, which closes April 13 with the $1 million Arkansas Derby, a major prep race for the Kentucky Derby.
Thursday's feature is the $100,000 Carousel for older females and Friday's racing includes the $500,000 Apple Blossom, a Grade 1, 1 1/16-mile race for older fillies and mares.
