5th grade student brings BB gun to school
SHANNON HILLS (KATV) - Officers were called to Davis Elementary after a 5th grade student brought an aerosol pistol BB gun to school.
According to Bryant Public Schools, students notified administrators who then made immediate contact with the student. The 11-year-old student allegedly made threats to harm teachers and other students.
The Shannon Hills Police Department responded, and the student was arrested.
Director of Communications Devin Sherrill said, "There was no danger to students at any time. The air gun was not loaded and no BBs were found in the student's possession. Proper procedure was followed to ensure the safety of students and staff."
Bryant Public Schools will follow district policy regarding students who bring firearms or other weapons to the school campus.
It has not been confirmed if the student will face charges.
