9 cited for illegal deer hunting in Ark., Okla.

TEXARKANA (AP) - An Arkansas Game and Fish official says nine Arkansans have been cited for illegal deer hunting in southwestern Arkansas and southeastern Oklahoma.

Commission Capt. Jackie Runion told the Texarkana Gazette some of those cited killed as many as 13 bucks in one year. Runion says all nine live in Sevier County.

He says about 25 deer racks were also confiscated along with three Arkansas lifetime hunting licenses that were illegally purchased.

Officials say a total of 32 citations were issued in the two states with total fines of $23,692 following the investigation by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
