LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality has planned a series of meetings to discuss a proposed update to the Statewide Solid Waste Management Plan.
ADEQ and a stakeholder group have been working to develop recommendations for the 10-year plan update since 2011.
Meetings are taking place in all 18 Solid Waste Management Districts across the state.
The first was held in June in Pulaski County. Future meeting locations include Jonesboro, Magnolia, Paragould, Pine Bluff and Springdale.
The meetings will include presentations from ADEQ on the stakeholder group's recommendations for the 2013-2023 proposed Statewide Solid Waste Management Plan.
After receiving public input at the meetings, ADEQ will finalize the state plan later this year and then submit it to the governor and Legislative Council.Copyright 2013 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
