Salvation Army officials expect a record number of applications for Angel Tree assistance. And applications can be turned in as early as next week.
Sign up dates will start a little earlier than usual because the Salvation Army is expecting more applications than usual.
When you apply you will need to bring a current photo ID, a social security card for everybody in the house, proof of addresslike a utility billa birth certificate for all children needing assistance, proof of both income and expenses, and verification if you receive unemployment or food stamps.
Little Rock and North Little Rock applicants can begin applying Monday at 1505 North 18th street in North Little Rock. Application dates will be October 3-6, 10-13 and 17-20. M-W 9:00-Noon and 1:00-3:00 or Th 9:00-Noon and 6:30-8:30. Call 501-374-9296 for more information.

Saline County starts taking applications on Tuesday at 129 North Main street. They will be taken October 4, 6, 11 and 13. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-Noon and 1-3. Call 501-315-1058 for more information.

One thing that has Angel Tree organizers here in Pulaski County extremely concerned is the inability to find a distribution location.
40 to 45 thousand square feet of open space is needed.
