App leads to Fayetteville athletic director's arrest
FAYETTEVILLE (40/29 News) - The Fayetteville Schools' athletic director used a new mobile app to try to lure a person he thought was a teenage girl for sex, according to investigators in Northwest Arkansas.
Berry Gebhart reportedly used "whisper," a free social media app, which developers say is designed to let users anonymously submit secrets. Authorities said that anonymity also lets predators pretend to be whoever they want to be and then pry into your personal information.
Gebhart was released on $75,000 bond on a charge of internet stalking of a child.
