BENTON, Ark. (AP) - The Central Arkansas Development Council is taking applications to help low-income families pay heating bills.
The CADC uses the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program to help residents in 12 counties with heating bills and accepts applications on a first-come, first-served basis.
Applications are being taken in Calhoun; Clark; Columbia; Dallas; Hot Spring; Lonoke; Montgomery; Ouachita; Pike; Pulaski; Saline; and Union counties.
Applicants need proof of income for all household members 18 years or older; proof of child support; proof of unemployment for household members 18 years old and older; proof of social security, retirement, pensions, workman's comp or disability. Also needed are proof of utility allowance and, if no income, proof of how bills are being paid.
