Ark man accused of stealing farm equipment in La

BENTON, La. (AP) - A 35-year-old Arkansas man is accused of stealing equipment worth $27,000 from a farm in Plain Dealing.

Bossier Parish sheriff's Lt. Bill Davis says Jamie Lynn Caswell, of Fouke, Arkansas, is being held in lieu of $45,000 bond.

He says Caswell was booked into the parish jail Thursday morning on a felony theft charge.

Davis says he does not know whether Caswell has an attorney.

Davis says Miller County sheriff's deputies arrested Caswell on Wednesday, after the Bossier Parish department got a tip that some of the stolen equipment was at his house.

Davis says a stolen $25,000 corn-header and a $1,000 water pump were found at Caswell's home.

He says investigators are tracking leads, but a $1,500 hay baler is still missing.
