Arkansas Federal Credit Union donates $80K to ACH Foundation

LITTLE ROCK (KATV) - Arkansas Children's Hospital received an $80,000 donation, thanks to the Arkansas Federal Credit Union and its members.

Since 1998, it's been an annual tradition for them to raise money. In that time, they've collected more than $680,000 for Children's Hospital.

Larry Biernacki is the Arkansas Federal Credit Union President and CEO. He says, "Because of the dedication of my board of directors and the 250-plus employees at Arkansas Federal, along with its 88,000 members, their generosity allows us to be able to give money to the Children's Hospital. We understand that when we do, we serve the children of Arkansas."

Biernacki says staff gets donations through bake sales and golf tournaments, but they like to get creative too. "For example, they'll tape me in a chair and stick me in a lobby with a can, my mouth shut and a sign reads, I must raise 100 dollars before I can get up." Biernacki continues, "We understand the importance of giving back to the community."

Arkansas Federal Credit Union is part of Credit Unions for Kids, a national sponsor of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Children's Miracle Network Hospitals is a national organization dedicated to helping raise awareness and funds for its 170 member hospitals, including Arkansas Children's Hospital.
