Arkansas home sales up, prices down in February

LITTLE ROCK (Ark News Bureau) The number of homes sold in Arkansas increased by 12.6 percent in February compared to a year earlier, and the average price of homes sold decreased by nearly 3 percent, the Arkansas Realtors Association said Friday.

The association said 1,793 homes sold in the 43-county area it surveyed in February, up from 1,593 a year earlier. The average price of a home was $146,902, down from $151,342 in February 2013.

Benton County had the most homes sold last month with 292, followed by Pulaski County with 274, Washington County with 159, Faulkner County with 121 and Saline County with 104.
