Arkansas woman killed in crash on icy bridge

HORSESHOE BEND, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas State Police say a Franklin woman was killed in a head-on collision on a bridge over the Strawberry River near Horseshoe Bend in Izard County.

A report on the crash says 58-year-old Janet Standridge died Monday morning when she lost control of her car on the icy State 289 bridge over the river and collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle.

The report says the driver of the second vehicle was taken to a hospital in Salem in undisclosed condition.
