Arrest made in Hot Springs murder case

Alfred Nickson

A Hot Springs man has been arrested in the death of his neighbor.

Police say Alfred Nickson, 55, killed 73-year-old Freddie Cole at his apartment on Manor Circle in December.

Nickson and an apartment maintenance worker told police in December that the door to Cole's apartment was open and they found him dead on the floor inside.

A report from the state crime lab earlier this month stated that DNA found under Cole's fingernails belonged to Nickson.

Nickson was arrested this past Wednesday after further investigation. He is being charged with capital murder.
