Arson suspected in fire at Stuttgart nightclub
STUTTGART, Ark. (AP) - Authorities suspect arson in a fire that broke out at a Stuttgart nightclub last week.
A report from the Stuttgart Fire Department says authorities found two bottles of lighter fluid and the lid to a gas can after extinguishing a blaze Thursday at Casey's Warehouse. The Stuttgart Daily Leader reports (http://bit.ly/189buUr ) that damage to the nightclub was estimated at $2,000.
No arrests have been made. Authorities say the fire happened less than two weeks after a man was fatally stabbed at Casey's Warehouse. One other person was injured and three were shot in the incident.
The newspaper reports that the Arkansas Alcoholic Beverage Control Division has temporarily removed the nightclub's license to serve alcohol. A hearing is set for Sept. 24 on the issue.
