ASU plans sendoff for game at Memphis

JONESBORO (AP) - Arkansas State is asking its football fans to turn out Friday afternoon for a rally prior to the team's departure for a game at Memphis.

The team will be leaving from the football stadium at 4 p.m. Friday. Fans are asked to show up about 3:30 p.m. for the sendoff.

Arkansas State plays Memphis at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday in the first of 3 consecutive non-conference games. The Red Wolves are 2-1 this year after beating Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Troy, while falling to Auburn.

The Red Wolves have played Memphis more than any other school in its history - 57 times. Memphis leads the series 28-24-5.
