      UPDATE: Daughter of murdered Batesville woman charged with her death

      BATESVILLE (KATV) - The daughter of Linda Jo Stingley was charged with her murder Friday. The Batesville woman was found dead in Malvern late Wednesday night more than 100 miles from her home.The Independence County Sheriff's office charged Jerrie Lyn Acklin, 40, with first degree murder after she was picked up in Bryant Thursday with Stingley's credit card and other contents from her mother's purse.Police had developed Acklin as a person of interest in the murder after the victim's credit cards were swiped in Bryant.Stingley, 65, was reported missing and was last seen Monday, June 2, around 9:00 p.m. leaving work at Eagle Mountain Assisted Living Center in Batesville. "Basically what we know, I've talked to the supervisor, and you know, Mr. Hall she worked her shift, and then she went home and then we got the news this morning," said her employer Ted Hall.Officials said they found the body of Stingley with the assistance of several law enforcement agencies including the Arkansas State Police.The cause of death has not been determined pending an autopsy from the Medical Examiner's Office. "She has been sent to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy. Hopefully in the next day or so, we'll have more that we'll be able to do something with," said Lt. Michael Mundy of the Independence Sheriff's Office.
