GARLAND COUNTY (Hot Springs Daily) - Traffic was bumper to bumper Wednesday morning along Highway 270 west of Hot Springs after a backhoe bucket tore through the top of a pickup truck.

A construction worker in the backhoe was trying to cross the highway on their way to a work site around 7:45 a.m.

The driver of the pickup was taken to Mercy Hospital but is expected to be okay, according to Scott Miser with the Piney Volunteer Fire Department. He was the only person in the truck.
