Ballet Arkansas finds a new home in downtown Little Rock
LITTLE ROCK (KATV) - It is a turning point for a local dance company. Ballet Arkansas celebrated their new downtown home Tuesday evening.
The professional performance group will be a part of what's expected be known as the "creative arts corridor" on Main Street between 5th and 6th streets.
Ballet Arkansas Artistic Director Michael Bearden said, "This building was built in 1899, and will be transformed into a dance studio and office space for ballet Arkansas. We really feel like it will put Ballet Arkansas and dance in the spotlight that it's never been in. And we also feel like in turn we can really give back to the community through education and through just inspiring audiences in downtown Little Rock."
Ballet Arkansas presents The Nutcracker during the Christmas holiday as well as several other performances throughout the year.
