Beebe man convicted of killing Greenbrier woman

CONWAY, Ark. (AP) - A Faulkner County jury has convicted a Beebe man of capital murder in the stabbing death of a Greenbrier woman.

The jury deliberated for more than an hour Thursday before finding 35-year-old Ronald Britton guilty in the August 2010 death of Michelle Asher. The 26-year-old Asher was found dead in her yard by a family member.

Britton was sentenced to life in prison.

Britton testified that he had nothing to do with the killing.

The Log Cabin Democrat reports that after the verdict was read Britton said, "Bravo, bravo alpha delta." He shouted "Give me liberty or give me death" after he was sentenced, then began singing and was shouting as bailiffs took him from the courtroom.
