Behind the Scenes at 'Jersey Boys'
It's the kind of story that almost all ages, male and female, will enjoy. And you'll likely be surprised at how many of the songs you know. We're talking about Jersey Boys. And Thursday, KATV'S Christina Munoz got the chance to talk to some of the Jersey Girls backstage before the show."Jersey Boys" is the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, a group of blue collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks becoming one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time. "You see them as just guys," said Jersey Girl Rachel Schur. "Just growing up in New Jersey and how they hit stardom. I like to say it's a kinda 'behind the music' kind of show."The group sold 175 million records worldwide. All before they were thirty. It's a show full of music, dance, and entertainment. And a lot of quick changes. Three three actresses play 50 different roles using these makeshift dressing rooms backstage. "Absolutely organized chaos. It's choreographed just like what you see on stage is choreographed, backstage is choreographed from which of the three of us runs into the changing booth first, to which dress and shoes. Every step is choreographed," said Jersey Girl Marlana Dunn. It's their love of theater, and offering a bit of escape, that keeps these ladies on stage night after night. "This show is absolutely amazing," said Jersey Girl Kaleigh Crownin. "I mean I love theater because I love to be pretending to be different characters and putting on different outfits and pretending to be somebody else. I thing this is such a crazy and wonderful opportunity because I get to play 18 different people nightly which is wild."Jersey Boys is at Robinson Auditorium until Sunday Night.Click here for ticket information.
