Two Bodies Found; Benton Family Thinks One is Missing Son

(KATV) Benton - A search warrant served at 2902 W. Main St. in Traskwood on Monday lead authorities to the discovery of two bodies Wednesday on the property.

The Benton Police Department; in conjunction with the Saline County Sheriff's Office, FBI, and the AR State Crime Lab, served the warrant in relation to the disappearance of Joe Lee Richards Jr.

Saline County Sheriff Bruce Pennington says, "We are moving forward together in an attempt to resolve this case as quickly and thoroughly as possible."

The investigation into Richard's disappearance started on October 8th, 2010 after his family reported him missing.

Relatives think Joe Lee Richards Junior, 40, left with someone he trusted. He didn't have his wallet, keys, truck or cell phone and hasn't been heard from since.

"The big thing about him was he would do anything for anyone. He didn't know a stranger. He didn't know how to say no. He would go help anyone he could," said his brother, Deputy Mike Richards.

He continued, "My dad is pretty sure that he feels like it's my brother. Until they come and say this is it, there's always some hope."

Joe Lee Richards Junior has two kids.

The warrant was issued after recent events in the investigation into Richards's disappearance led officers to believe the residence in Traskwood could be a crime scene related to this case.

This is an on-going investigation and further information will be released as it becomes available. If anybody has information related to this case they are encouraged to contact the Saline County Sheriff's Office at 303-5608, or the Benton Police Department at 778-1171 or 315-TIPS.

Authorities are still on the scene. We'll have more information on this developing news story as it becomes available.
