Caterpillar donates to BEST Robotics competition

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Caterpillar Inc. has donated $10,000 to support the BEST Robotics competition hosted by the University of Arkansas at Little Rock's George W. Donaghey College of Engineering and Information Technology.

Caterpillar general manager Paul Rivera presented the check Wednesday to UALR Dean Eric Sandgren.

The BEST Robotics competition is intended to inspire students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and math through participation in the science-and engineering-based robotics competition.

A total of 23 teams from across Arkansas are registered for the six-week competition that ends with Game Day on Nov. 2 at the UALR Jack Stephens Center.
