Charges against Gould mayor dropped
GOULD (KATV) - Felony and misdemeanor charges filed against the Gould mayor last year have been dropped.
Mayor Earnest Nash, Jr., was accused of ignoring state law, now working with the city council and forging a document creating a checking account, among other charges.
He went to trial in September on those charges but the judge ruled a mistrial because of improper evidence. The re-trial had been scheduled for April 8 but the prosecutor said they discovered new evidence that raises reasonable doubt about the mayor's guilt.
