CLARKSVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Prosecutors in Johnson County are still developing charges for a man arrested in the stabbing death of a 6-year-old girl.
Autumn Vang died on Thursday at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock. Johnson County Sheriff Jimmy Dorney says the girl suffered a puncture wound behind an ear.
The sheriff confirmed the name of the girl, who suffered the stab wound at a home near Hartman.
The Southwest Times Record reports 21-year-old Kou Her was arrested May 10 on multiple charges, including attempted murder, attempted kidnapping, battery and burglary.
Officials say charges are to be revised now that the girl has died.
Pope County Prosecutor David Gibbons says new charges could be filed within a week.
The sheriff says preliminary results from an autopsy conducted Friday were pending.
