LITTLE ROCK (AP) - State Rep. Ann Clemmer says she's seeking the Republican nomination for the central Arkansas congressional seat being vacated by U.S. Rep. Tim Griffin.
Clemmer on Wednesday became the third Republican to enter the race for the 2nd Congressional District since Griffin said last week that he wouldn't seek re-election next year. Griffin, a Republican, was first elected to the seat in 2010.
Clemmer is a political science professor at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and has served in the state House since 2009.
Little Rock banker French Hill and retired Army Col. Conrad Reynolds announced Tuesday they were seeking the GOP nomination. Former North Little Rock Mayor Pat Hays is seeking the Democratic nomination.
