Clinton National Expects Large Crowds for Thanksgiving Travel

(KATV, Source: Clinton Nat'l Airport) Little Rock - Bill and Hillary Clinton NationalAirport is expecting high passenger volume during the Thanksgiving Week.{}More than 30,000 passengers are expectedduring the period, which runs through Sunday, November 25th.{}According to projections released by the Transportation Security Administration(TSA), the airport will be at least 2.5 percent busier this Thanksgiving overlast year's holiday.

Sunday, November25th will be the most crowded with 4,680 enplaned, or departingpassengers, followed by the day before Thanksgiving, Wednesday, November 21thwith 4,283 passengers. The projection does not include arriving passengers tothe airport. The Thanksgiving Holiday Week is the busiest time of the year forthe state's largest airport.

Those usingClinton National will notice massive construction underway in the ticketlobby.{} All airline ticket counters are in operation, and construction isnot expected to slow down passengers.{}

Throughout theholiday travel season, the airport will see more leisure passengers, many ofwhom do not travel often.{} Passengers are asked to follow the followingtips to help ensure they arrive at their destination on-time and as stress-freeas possible.

  • Be at the airport at least anhour and a half before your flight.{} This will allow time to check-in,handle any security waits and be at the gate on time as most flights areexpected to be full.


  • Travelers may bring one carry-onbag and one personal item, such as a purse or laptop.


  • Liquids, gels and aerosols ascarry-ones must be in: three ounce containers or smaller that are placedin a one quart, clear plastic zip-top bag.{} Limit one zip-top bag perpassenger.


  • Do not wrap gifts as officers mayhave to search contents of packages.


  • Before leaving home, check yourair carrier's website to make sure your flight is on-time and check-in onlineif possible. However, those checking luggage will still need to stop at theairline ticket counter.


  • For quick pick-up, customers mayuse the 30-minute metered parking in front of the terminal and baggage claim.


  • ClintonNational provides a free cell phone parking lot for drivers waiting forpassengers. Motorists may avoid looping around the terminal by using the lot atthe former Aerospace Education Center located on Roosevelt Road. {}
