MAYFLOWER (AP) - The chairman of the U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee is expected to tour the oil spill cleanup site at Mayflower this weekend.
Republican U.S. Rep. Bill Shuster of Pennsylvania chairs that committee. He's expected to join Republican U.S. Rep. Tim Griffin of Arkansas in Mayflower on Sunday.
ExxonMobil Pipeline Co.'s Pegasus pipeline ruptured in a Mayflower neighborhood on March 29 and spilled thousands of barrels of oil.
No one was hurt, but the spill led authorities to evacuate more than 20 homes.
Mayflower is about 25 miles northwest of Little Rock.Copyright 2013 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
