Conrad Everett escapes custody, police searching for him

Conrad Everett, 23

SHERWOOD (KATV) - Police are searching for a man who escaped from court Wednesday morning.

Lt. Jamie Michaels told Channel 7 News that 23-year-old Conrad Everett fled after he was given a one year jail sentence. He had been charged with no pet licence, No rabies vaccine, animal at large and animal abandonment.

Everett ran from the courthouse and got into a car parked at the police station. A search of the licence plates showed the vehicle is registered in Everett's name. Authorities found the car abandoned near 21st and Percy Machin and started chasing Everett on foot. They lost sight of him, though, after he reportedly ducked under a train.

A K-9 unit was brought in to help with the search.

Everett is described as 5'9" tall with long dreadlocks.

Anyone with information on Everett's whereabouts is asked to call police at (501) 835-1425.
