Conway PD to hold meeting on Sex Offender Concerns in Neighborhoods
(KATV, Source: Conway PD) Conway - What's next when you get notification of a sex offender in your neighborhood? The Conway Police along with the Arkansas Crime Information Center is hosting an information session to address concerns about sex offenders in the community. This session is meant to be educational in nature.
It will address when notification is made, why it's made, what information is released on the sex offender and what your rights are as a citizen and the rights of the offender. Paula Stitz with the Arkansas Crime information Center will be on hand to provide information on the sex offender registry and to show you how to navigate the system
Sergeant Glen Cooper with the Conway Police Department will also speak. Cooper is the department's Sex Offender Coordinator. He'll talk more specifically tracking sex offenders and about the notification process.
The community is invited. This is a time to have all of your questions concerning sex offenders answered by professionals, "We hope to clear up any misconceptions about the tracking of sex offenders and what rights you as citizens have as well as the rights of sex offenders."
The session will take place Tuesday March 6, 2012 at 6:30 pm in the multipurpose room at the Conway Police Department. Anyone interested is welcome to attend. For more information contact Sgt.
