Conway Rotary Club helps boost literacy

CONWAY (Log Cabin Democrat) - The Conway Rotary Club has found a way to support literacy in the community.

The tradition has been that guest speakers were given a token of appreciation: Rotary coffee mugs, Rotary flashlights and other Rotary memorabilia. While appreciated by the guest speakers, the tradition was changed when Rik Sowell became president in July.

His idea was to donate a book to the Faulkner County Library in the name of the guest speaker. Since his idea was born, the club has presented 34 books to the Library.

The program will continue through 2013.
