Crawford, Ellington to debate at Arkansas State

JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas State University will host a debate next month for the candidates running for the 1st Congressional District representing eastern Arkansas.

Republican congressman Rick Crawford and Democratic congressional hopeful Scott Ellington say they'll participate in the debate hosted by ASU's political science department. Libertarian Party candidate Jessica Paxton and Green Party candidate Jacob Holloway also plan to participate.

Crawford's campaign manager, Brad Ferguson, tells The Jonesboro Sun ( ) that the congressman agreed to the ASU debate but does not plan to attend upcoming debates in Stuttgart and Conway.

No date or time has been set for the ASU debate, which will also be hosted by KASU, ASU-TV and The Jonesboro Sun.
