Deer harvest could top record this season

(KATV) Hunters around the state are getting geared up for deer season and Cory Gray with the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission says they have a lot to look forward to. "We have a real good deer herd. Mass crop looks good this year so they're going to come into deer season in good shape. I think we may have a record harvest this year."

Hunters will head to the forest this Saturday when modern gun season begins. The deer population in Arkansas has grown so much that Game & Fish has even raised the number of deer that hunters can kill in certain zones of the state.
