Deputies: Man forged check to bail girlfriend out of jail
MOUNTAIN HOME (KATV) - A north Arkansas man allegedly used a forged check to bail his girlfriend out of jail Sunday.
Matthew Edison Tillery, 29, was arrested on felony charges after a local bail bonding company told Baxter County deputies Tillery had used a worthless check to post Jessica Smith's $450 bail.
While he was being booked for the forgery charge, deputies reportedly found more blank checks for the same account which had been closed. He was charged with felony forgery as an habitual offender, misdemeanor theft and parole violation.
Tillery is being held in the Baxter County Detention Facility without bond. He is set to appear in Circuit Court on July 11.
