BALD KNOB, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas highway officials say drivers heading northbound on U.S. Highway 67 in White County should expect a detour this weekend.
The State Highway and Transportation Department says pavement repairs will require all northbound vehicles to take Exit 51 at the Highway 157 interchange. Drivers will have to head east to Highway 367. Then, they'll be detoured north to Bald Knob where they can get back on U.S. Highway 67.
The detour will be in place Saturday from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m., weather permitting. Officials say the detour is necessary because crews will be working on a single travel lane within a construction zone.
Crews are reconstructing several miles of U.S. Highway 67. The project will cost more than $19 million. Officials expect it to be complete by summer 2014.Copyright 2013 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
