CONWAY (KATV)--Attention Dillard's shoppers, if you live in Conway, soon you won't have to make the trip to Little Rock to shop!
Tuesday night, The Conway Area Chamber of Commerce among developers of the Central Landing and Lewis Crossing Developments revealed that Dillard's will be coming to Conway. Unfortunately for some, developers were tight-lipped and didn't reveal what other stores would be coming. Although one resident is looking to bring a fusion restaurant to the development.
"The stores are nationally known, they bring revenue in a big way into our community, they stop some our spending from leaking and so Conway payroll is going to stay here and be spent on Conway goods," said Conway Area Chamber of Commerce Senior Vice President, Jamie Gates.
By the time this project is complete, 75 stores, restaurants with a mix of hotels will take up the space currently used by Conway's Municipal Airport.
"Anything new and growing in Conway is always exciting, brings new families into the area," said resident Taleda McKee.
While it may be a while before developers reveal other stores and restaurants coming to Conway, one resident has a project of his own in the works.
"What we are wanting to do is to bring in kind of a fusion restaurant into the new Central Landing and we think it's going to be really good place to put one," said resident Alexander Tyler.
Construction is set to begin next spring and they hope to open during the holiday season of 2016.
