Downed power lines snarl traffic on US 67/167
UPDATE (9:45 a.m.): Northbound lanes are moving again, and southbound lanes are starting to move slowly.
JACKSONVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Authorities say a major central Arkansas highway is shut down because of downed power lines.
Arkansas State Police say a truck hit power lines at about 7:45 a.m. Wednesday on U.S. 67/167 in Pulaski County. State police say the highway is closed in both directions between Kiehl Avenue and Interstate 440.
Southbound traffic is being diverted onto Interstate 440 and northbound traffic is being diverted onto Kiehl Avenue.
Entergy Arkansas reports about 500 customers without electricity in the area.
