LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Entergy Arkansas reports fewer than 600 of its customers remain without power after storms and strong winds moved across the state.
The company's website shows the greatest number of outages late Sunday afternoon was 238 in Union County in southern Arkansas while about 100 outages were reported in Chicot County where a possible tornado struck near Dermott late Saturday afternoon.
An Entergy statement said the outages are due to thunderstorms and the high winds and the company hoped to have all power restored by late Sunday night.
A spokesman for the rural electric cooperatives in Arkansas said he wasn't aware of any outages among the co-op members in the state.Copyright 2013 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
