(KATV) A North Little Rock family received an early Christmas present a home wrapped with a big red bow.

Ashley Shaw and her kids, Andy,3, Anna,1 and Jessica, 9 have called Our House "home" for about a year. It is a shelter for the working homeless.

In that time, Ashley was able to save money, pay off debts and improved her credit to get approved for the loan for the Habitat house.

Volunteers broke ground on the home in April. Ashley says after everything she's been through, owning a home is a dream come true. "I'm never going to have to leave again, I don't have to move again. Everything I'm storing in the attic and all the keep sakes, that's where they're going to reside. We're blessed and we're so thankful. So many people have helped I can't even begin to help everybody."

Habitat for Humanity of Pulaski County and the Heartland Arkansas Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans were the backbone of this project.
