JEFFERSON COUNTY - One lane of Highway 79 north of the Cleveland County line has been re-opened, following a fatal accident on Tuesday morning.
Authorities say a northbound passenger car struck a southbound logging truck, killing one driver and leaving diesel fuel all over the road and right of way.
The highway was shut down for a time Tuesday morning.
Crews are on the scene cleaning up the fuel spill and removing the wreckage.
The accident occurred about five miles north of the Jefferson-Cleveland County line.
