Fight breaks out at high school, officer injured

LITTLE ROCK (KATV) - Two police officers were injured during a pep rally Friday at J.A. Fair High School, according to witnesses.

A security officer told a student to take off his hat but the student refused, according to Sgt. Cassandra Davis. A short scuffle started and the officer fell backwards, hitting his head. He was treated for a possible concussion.

A truancy officer then got involved, and a student reportedly hit him. Police have not confirmed if it was the same student.

A Channel 7 News videographer on the scene reported students were taken to the police station for questioning.
